Football enthusiasts crave management games. It’s the only way to get their hands on Cristiano, Messi, Neymar, and other superstars. Starting from 2013, I have never missed a Football Manager game. Starting as a Championship Manager back in 1992, the Football Manager franchise has produced 20 games, with the recent addition of “Football Manager 2024.”
While you may think the graphics are much better in FIFA Video Games and Pro Evolution Soccer(PES), which I agree with, does a tactician really need graphics? Or are they solely focused on making their team more and more competitive?
Well, I want my team to win a sextuple every season (which I have won multiple times in different leagues!). But if it’s the graphics that are stopping you from trying Football Manager games, then let me have this one chance to change your mind. Let’s get started.
The Gameplay:
I agree that the Football Manager franchise lacks high-end graphics, but don’t you think they’re improving? Besides, the franchise compensates for that in different ways. Let’s see how:
There are a lot of features like matchday tactics, player’s moods, and more that a manager must keep an eye on.
Moreover, I’ve rarely seen player’s negotiations getting heated in any other game. You just have to throw in the cash and the parent club will always be happy, it’s that easy. Even with some rival clubs, if you’re paying an insane amount, no club would reject your offer.
On the flip side, even though Cristiano plays for Al-Hilal now, can you sign him for Barcelona or even for Real Madrid again on Football Manager? Well, I respectfully disagree because in Football Manager games, players as well as clubs do not let go of their past differences.
In short, if you want vivid graphics, Football Manager is improving on this front. But, if you’re looking to experience how actual managers feel on the sidelines, there’s no better game than Football Manager.
Before moving on, you already know that I’m a big fan of the Football Manager franchise. However, there’s one thing I don’t like about it all. With so many strategies and manager’s actions involved, the game doesn’t easily run on an average internet connection.
But, there’s no need to worry because any reliable internet with rare outages will do the trick. Optimum, for instance, is one quality Internet Service Provider(ISP) that provides enough bandwidth to ensure a smooth gaming experience.
The best thing?
For a Latin speaker like me, it has to be Optimum’s Spanish customer service that I can easily access via número de teléfono de Optimum. Not only do they resolve my issues in no time, but they’re equally helpful when it comes to guiding me through the plans and packages.
A Complete Management Game:
If you’re managing a club, you’d want total control over it. You don’t want anyone poking their noses in PR, scouting, finances, or in anything. Well, I can confidently say that Football Manager lets me control every single aspect of the game. Can you say the same for FIFA’s manager mode?
While you have the freedom to manage the club in whatever way you like, most players may see it as a problem. It’s because if you’re changing tactics or players’ positions without any reason, then be ready for a revolt. Players won’t sit if they’re mistreated and if you’re new to this game, keep a close eye on player’s hierarchy.
Make sure the senior players in the team are satisfied and happy. You’d want to use their influence within the squad to develop a good rapport with everyone. On the flip side, if they’re sidelined, be it professionally or financially, consider yourself in danger. Even if they’re the best, they will let you down on the pitch so that the board’s confidence in you hits rock bottom.
One thing that I have missed the most in other games is the attention to detail that Football Manager games have. For example, talking to the media about your team’s performance affects your team. If you’re falsely praising your team or any player, then they will realize that it’s just a gimmick.
As a football fan, I don’t see that many features in any other game. For that reason, Football Manager has to be the most complete football management game that ever existed for me.
Are You Ready to Be the Next Pep’s Apprentice?
Well, it’s time to wrap up things, and if you’re going to play Football Manager now, start with Football Manager 2018. Usually, newcomers don’t easily get a hold of this game, and it’s better if you start with Football Manager 2018 to know the game inside out. When you feel ready, download it and conquer the footballing world. Adios!
